Wedding dress shopping is one of the top most stressful things a woman can do while planning her wedding. It’s either, you are having trouble finding the perfect one or you can’t decide on a favorite… In my case, I kind of knew what I wanted and my prayers were answered!
Grace Loves Lace is an Australian designer that I’m sure you’ve come across on Pinterest or Instagram. I remember a while back seeing their dresses and automatically falling in love. Years ago even before knowing Zach and I were going to get married, in the back of my head I knew Grace Loves Lace was where I wanted to find my wedding dress.
They have their main show room in Australia and with a baby, I knew traveling was out of the question. Their show room comes to LA every once in a while but with their inventory being sometimes scarce and each gown being hand made, I took the chance and ordered my Verdelle 2.o gown online without trying it on…daring much? I ordered a medium and crossed my fingers that this bad boy would fit, mind you I had to lose all my baby weight!
I’m not one for anything traditional, I was never a fan of traditional wedding dresses. When I saw the draped, cape like sleeves on the Verdelle it was an easy YES, THIS IS THE ONE! The gown was fitting at the waist but comfortable, the open back and front slit topped off the look. For me being 5’10 I was scared the dress might of not been long enough but it was perfect for our beach ceremony with a slight drag to it. The boho lover that I am, I wanted boho luxe with a side of Stevie Nicks which is why I opted to accessorize with a crystal stone bracelet, simple diamond rings, gold diamond rings with a crescent moon and my favorite, gold diamond cross earrings that reminded me of old school witchcraft- side note, I also have an obsession with horror movies, witches, and anything that has to do with things similar to American Horror Story Coven. The flow of the dress also reminded me of something Nicks would wear back in the day.
Overall, I was over the moon about my gown. The only alteration I made was taking in the waist a bit which I could of fit into a small but I’m still very, very happy with the fitting! I love this dress because even though it isn’t traditional or the usual classic design, it was the definition of me as a boho bride! #cuddebackcabo
